[edit]Hello @Ani_ttbr,
Thank you for taking time to connect on a call. When we spoke on 22 October, we made changes to the budget together to include contingency, service provider and accounting fee. The revised spreadsheet was then uploaded on Fluxx by sharing the budget link.
Congratulations! Your grant application has been approved in the amount of INR 161,414.92 from 1 December 2024 to 31 January 2025.
Observations/ Recommendations / Notes
Below, you will find the consolidated feedback and observations from the review team (i.e. SA regional funds committee and programme officer)). Do take time to read and respond (i.e. provide more details) to the sharing(s) as necessary. Note: The review team may not have the same lived experience or understanding of the local context as you/your team. Hence, providing further insights will be very helpful in building on our collective wisdom and shared learnings.
- Referencing question 8/ describe your team. While there is an assignment of roles, there can be more clarity on the past experience of the implementation team. This includes wikimedia journey, past experience in event organisation and/or working with local communities, grant or project management experience. Tools that we use: global account; recent contributions. Please feel free to share others.
- Referencing question 17/ what do you hope to learn. The learning questions are clear and targeted to the project. Please do set aside time reflect and document these learnings in your final report (i.e. part 2).
- In your proposed budget, you have also allocated budget lines for tools and equipment. A note on this:
- Budgeting for equipment purchase: We do not support private purchase or ownership of equipment. While equipment purchase can be considered for groups, organisations and affiliates, projects that require the purchase of specialised equipment will need to clearly demonstrate the need, requisite experience and how the equipment will be shared with other community members. An equipment log or list must be publicly available for community members and included in the application. Please note that there is a possibility that the project may be partially funded (with the exclusion of equipment purchase support). For one-off projects with no or limited activity track record, please consider renting the equipment.
- Could you provide more details on the need to purchase camera lens? If your project is linked to the Assamese Wikimedia Community, we recommend you set up a equipment log list (example) and in time share how other community members request access to any equipment held by equipment custodians of the User Group.
- In addition @आर्या जोशी has also left further notes for you:
- This Activity seems a small duration activity. You need to concentrate with a long term project as Culture of Assam needs more attention to get documented.
- What will be the future plan to stay connected continuously with the participants? Else the idea behind the activity will not succeed completely.
- If you want any contacts with any local scholars for understanding the meanings of Manuscripts and other ancient traditions kindly try to address these kinds of experts locally. If you won't be able to get any. Kindly contact me. I will provide you with the contacts of some senior scholars who will guide you.
- You can prepare a long term project to cover all the aspects of Culture of Asaam. You can also do a research based activity on this as well. Kindly think about the same.
- Regarding the Culture of North east, many people are very curious. If possible ask for more funds and create a good coffee table book based on your documentation.
- If the participants need any guidance or help for this I am willing to get in touch with them.
We know even the best thought through plans may change
In the event that there are changes to your implementation schedule, you can reach out to request for a grant extension (i.e. extend end date). Similarly, if there is a surplus budget or changes to your planned budget, you can reach out to me about reallocation (via email and on this talkpage). There is also the option to have the unspent funds deducted against a future grant. More details here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Return_unused_funds_to_WMF
