A new metric for Wikimedia

[edit]

For a possible approach to find answers to the questions #1 "What do we as a movement want to achieve?" and #2 "How do we define impact when exploring new territory? And how do we measure success?" please see: A new metric for Wikimedia. Denny Vrandečić (User:Denny) has written an Op-Ed for the Wikipedia Signpost, where he elaborates on metrics for Wikimedia. "TL;DR: We should focus on measuring how much knowledge we allow every human to share in, instead of number of articles or active editors. A project to measure Wikimedia's success has been started. We can already start using this metric to evaluate new proposals with a common measure." --Nicole Ebber (WMDE) (talk) 11:13, 25 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
