Total Nos. of participants

[edit]

Over the period of time the Awareness, Interest and Spread of wiki activities has increased. Depending upon the nos. of registration requests received, the total nos. of participants may be increased. --Sushant savla (talk) 16:47, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks for your comment. I am just another Wiki-editor here. I feel yes, the points you have mentioned are serious issues. We have more than a thousand eligible candidates in more than 15 language communities. We can not connect to everyone. Everytime an event like Wikimedia India Conference or Wikipedia Bengali 10 years' celebration is organized, we try to inform mailing lists, groups.
I also do hope that the number of participants will increase gradually. Regards. --TitoDutta 20:31, 16 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi Sushant and Tito, the TTT program is designed as a focus group engagement and as a residential workshop meant for building capacities of community members. Working with a group of not more than 30 Wikimedians would help in giving enough focus and attention to each of the participant. We usually ensure that every Indic language community gets adequate representation. We plan to hold these year on year so that those who did not get a chance to participate now can come for the future workshops.
Sushant look forward to seeing participation from Gujarati Wikimedians too in the workshop.--Visdaviva (talk) 12:49, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Disclosure on selection

[edit]

Some of the applicants in spite of meeting the selection criteria were not selected. It is because of the following reasons:

  • Upon review of the applications we believe that some are more valued participants for the Media Wiki Tech workshop which CIS-A2K intends to hold during May 2015. (We have informed these participants over e-mail about this and would be giving them priority in selection for the Media Wiki Tech workshop).
  • Some of the participants did not complete the two step registration process, which was essential for us to assess the applications. (We have tried to reach out to such participants regarding the same and have received no response).

We have made one exception in scaling down the selection criteria to have representation from a specific language community. --Visdaviva (talk) 12:15, 31 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Wanted to know the flight details

[edit]

Hello Sir

Myself gaurav jhammat from Punjabi Wikipedia. I am selected in TTT-2015. My flight ticket is gonna confirmed to Bangalore from Delhi. basically am from Chandigarh am going to Delhi to Bangalore via train. so it may cause any type of discomfort if my train and flight schedule didn't suit me. it will surely give me problem on returning because i cant travel in night from Delhi to Chandigarh. so i request you to book my ticket directly from Chandigarh to Delhi..

Thank you GAURAV JHAMMAT (punjabi wikipedia)

  • Dear Gaurav,

We have sent you a revised itinerary and believe that this revised schedule shall take care of the issue:) Lahariyaniyathi (talk) 10:16, 6 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Mumbai and Pune participants

[edit]

On the page, you have stated:

  • Low fare flight costs will be considered if your travel by bus/train is more than 24 hours to the event location.

Why are participants from Mumbai and Pune flying when both cities are 24/17 and 20/14 hours by train/bus?

--Rsrikanth05 (talk) 06:27, 26 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Rsrikanth05 please note, because it is 24 hours to the event location and the event location is not Bangalore Railway station! Bus journeys (overnight) from these locations are tedious and would not guarantee on time arrival for the workshop. Cheers. --Visdaviva (talk) 05:40, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
