Information
[edit]- Discussion coordinators summarize and submit local feedback to the draft via the summary skeleton.
- If a point is "above the bar" (priority 1) - strong sentiment by the local community that something absolutely needs to change, be removed or added - then the coordinator also adds comments to the talk page on Meta as well while referencing the sources statement - do this on an ongoing basis.
- Sections
- A - Direction: The future we imagine (green box).
- B - Remaining sections: Reasoning, Implications.
- Priorities
- 1 - This is absolutely necessary change (either to keep or to eliminate)
- 2 - This is a change, but not absolutely necessary
First draft
[edit]Section | Priority | Summary Statement | Overall sentiment | Keyword or phrase |
---|---|---|---|---|
B | 2 | I believe that the WMF must abandon neutrality (passivity) and embrace active policies. These policies should include the setting of universal standards on notability, behaviors, formats and other aspects to become standardized. (B25es) | neutral | WMF's role, policies |
B | 2 | I think that the WMF must maintain its role of serving the community, not making its own decisions. The discussions about articles notability and format should correspond to the editing community. (NaBUru38) | neutral | WMF's role, community |
B | 2 | The fundamental rules (the five pillars) can not vary from project to project. For example, a linguistic "community" has no right to abandon/nuance the NPOV policy. The WMF must sometimes impose rules that pass over individual communities to safeguard the projects. (Hispalois) | neutral | WMF's role, policies |
A | 2 | The draft should say "The strategic direction of the Wikimedia movement for 2030 is to become the roads, bridges, and villages that will support the world's journey towards free knowledge." (Caleidoscopic) | neutral | draft |
B | 2 | There should be a genuine plurality of bibliographic sources on Wikipedia. There is some racism regarding data from South America; pointy bibliographical reference is usually required. (Pavel Vavilov) | neutral/concern | policies |
B | 2 | For the 2030 strategy, we have to start using motivation and amenity -- Plurality without routines or "robotomanias". (Donald Silver) | neutral | motivation |
B | 2 | We need alliances, more links to external pages. (Morgalexandra) | supportive | partnerships |
Second draft
[edit]Section | Priority | Summary Statement | Overall sentiment | Keyword or phrase |
---|---|---|---|---|
B | 2 | I have the feeling that the strategic direction was drafted mostly with Wikipedia in mind and not considering the other sister projects. (Zerabat) | concern | sister projects |

[edit]If you have detailed notes in addition to the summary, you may add them here. For example, the notes may come from an in-person discussion or workshop. If your discussion happened on a wiki or other online space, you do not need to copy the detailed notes here.
