Server page guidelines
Appearance
This page is considered a guideline on Wikimedia. It illustrates standards of conduct, which many editors agree with in principle. However, it is not policy. Feel free to update the page as needed, but please use the discussion page to propose any major changes. |
As of 21 December, 2005, most of the pages on individual servers (see Template:Wikimedia servers for a list) are poorly formatted, or even missing. This page aims to set out a consistent template to be followed (and for pages to be created for all servers).
A template is shown here:
SERVERNAME
[edit]SERVERNAME is a Wikimedia server and it currently acts as a (squid / Apache / whatever). It was named after x. Other relevant information here.
Specifications
[edit]Hardware

Software

Samuel is an example of a correctly formatted page. Please create a page for each of the servers, and if a page is already on wikidev, please dewikilink (is that even a word?) it from Wikimedia servers and link it to the appropriate page here.
