The main aspects of editing Wikipedia are;
- To contribute to Wikipedia is the single most effective way of performing science outreach (the third task) in higher education
- To have your name shown and associated with SLU, you may use Wikipedia as a channel to recruit students.
- Journalists may more easily find you and your area of expertise when it is available on Wikipedia.
- You are put in direct contact with readers who may ask questions and comment on your area of expertise.
To get the most out of contributing with your knowledge to Wikipedia, please do;
- Use your own name when you register an account. Add (SLU) after your name so your association to SLU is visible. The username may for example look like this: John Smith (SLU).
- Use and add your information to the user template that you may find in your preferred language version here.
- Add your username into the line of the statistical tool so you may see your own contributions.
