May I assume that the number of deleted articles shown in the graph as rapidly declining since early 2007 is actually just the number of articles deleted via AFD? If so the decline since early 2007 is likely to be the result of the introduction of the prod preocess and creation of additional criteria for speedy deletion. Redirects

Typically when an AFD closes with an article being redirected the decision is in effect deletion. The single, fictional character or model of motorbike exists but unlike the parent article on the album, book or brand of motorbike the decision has been that we don't need an article on this. I gather you are treating redirects as keep, and I think that is misleading, though I accept there will be some occasions where the whole stub can be accommodated in a section within the target article that the redirect points at. Recreations

I think that this research makes the implicit assumption that articles recreated with the same name will be of the same subject. This assumption may be the only one that one can practically make, but it is not entirely true, especially when the article is a person's name. I'm not aware of any research into the frequency of this, but I've come across sufficient incidents myself to be very confident that it is commonplace. WereSpielChequers 13:56, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Total deleted?

This has a total deleted figure of 2.6 million from 2001 to date. But according to en:User:JamesR/AdminStats there have been 7.4 million deletions since 23/12/2004. Even if the 2.6 million were only mainspace deletions I would be surprised if they were more than a third of total deletions, especially if the 2001-23/12/2004 deletions have somehow been included in the 2.6 million.
