About Our Study

[edit]

We are a group of students conducting research into how experienced Wikipedia editors are using the search page to aid their editing. We are looking for editors who primarily edit in English and who hold accounts to participate in a 45min - 60min moderated virtual usability test session on Zoom. The information we collect will provide valuable insight which we will incorporate into a report of findings and recommendations for our final class project.

Methods

[edit]

We will be conducting virtual usability tests via Zoom, consisting of 6 tasks and 4 post-test questions, all related to how editors use the search function. We are looking to recruit at least 8 editors who have experience editing articles and do so as account-holders. Please complete this Google Form if you are interested in participating and we will follow up with next steps. Test session will be recorded for internal use only. Selected participants who are based in the US will be compensated with a $10 Amazon Gift Card.

Timeline

[edit]

We are looking to complete our usability tests between 4/11 - 4/21 and to finalize our deliverables by 5/2.
