Arguments in favour
[edit]- Support -- --Teemul 01:38, 28 May 2008 (UTC) - Reasons: (1) The Finnish Wikiopisto is closely working with an active online community supporting open research and open education called Tutkimusparvi - The Research Swarm; (2) Already three Finnish academic institutions have organized courses in the Finnish Wikiversity; (3) The Finnish Wikiversity organizes study projects and activities and is thus completely different from Wikibooks - e.g. the main page is based on different types of study activities instead of different disciplines; (4) The Finnish Wikiversity even has a students' association laptop band called WOLO.

- Support. fi.wikiversity has my support. During the last few month Finnish community has been working hard on their wikiversity, how it can be visible from the traffic stats for Category:FI. So we can say it is a viable community which can help the projects development also in the future. There were also established different learning units, which seemes to fullfill their aims. Hope that after translating some percentage of messages LSC will give a chance to fi community offer the free-learning environment generaly to the Finnish speaking people worldwide.--Juan de Vojnikov 09:08, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Other discussion
[edit]- As far as I know there are some localisation requirements to start new projects in existing languages. Localisation for Finnish is already pretty good. Just some localisation for extensions used within Wikimedia projects missing. Please do a little work on that in Betawiki. Shouldn't be more than 3-4 hours of work (stats, todo. - I think it is nearly done. Or am I wrong?--Juan de Vojnikov 09:29, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
- Check out the group statistics and you will find that there is still work to do. Thanks, GerardM 10:04, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, so the first 3 columns should be translated on 100%.--Juan de Vojnikov 12:21, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Localisation update
[edit]- Currently 97.61% of the MediaWiki messages and 72.87% of the messages of the extensions used by the Wikimedia Foundation projects have been localised. Localisation of these messages is a requirement before your request is finally assessed. This is the recent localisation activity for your language. Thanks, GerardM 14:48, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
