Requests for comment/Abuse of power by sysops in Russian Wikinews
The following request for comments is closed. This is inactive for over a year and not leading anywhere. Meta is not generally an appeals court for single-wiki issues. If there is in fact a systematic issue with the Russian Wikinews, then you can file a report with the U4C instead. * Pppery * it has begun 04:39, 12 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't even know how this works to be honest, but I hope someone can help me. I'm a Russian Wikinews user who was banned for "vandalism" in 17 June 2023: ru:n:Обсуждение_участника:Erokhin#Блокировка. Sysop ru:n:DonSimon write this: "Dear colleague, I have reverted these edits as the vandalizing ones. As a warning, you have been blocked for 1 week from editing the project. I cannot monitor the project every day due to real-life problems and watch your edits. In case of continuing similar edits or attempts to harm Wikinews (for example, via threats to admins) the period of blocking may be expanded (including even the possibility of global ban). I insist that you do not use the Wiki Projects to settle scores with anyone.". For example:
And DonSimon is son of Krassotkin https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q52256371 I request you to lift the blocking due to possible conflict of interests. My [1], [2], [3] I hope that this will serve to take action and that justice will be done in this case. --Erokhin (talk) 19:32, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Erokhin has now been unblocked on ru.wn. Should this RFC be closed, then? --SHB2000 (talk | contribs) 07:41, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
