Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Planning for weeks to make sure the project goes smoothly.

Reaching to few people I had access to in for details about their communities.

Mapping out everything needed to make the project a success.

  • What did not work so well?

Hike in fuel price and basic commodities.

Local authorities and harassment from thugs.

Insecurities in the North.

There was no accurate distance measurement for the state, hence, the time used in moving from one location to another extended the project.

  • What would you do differently next time?

Make more than one plans for transportation.

Get a near-accurate distance measurement before embarking on a tour.

Gain more knowledge about any location we are headed to avoid stepping on boundaries in the community.

Contact local leaders in every community first.

Anything else[edit]

Anything else you want to share about your project?

I and my team faced several challenges from the armed forces and every explanation to make them understand the purpose of the project was attainable for them, our gadgets were seized for some hours. We had to spend more to retrieve them.

I would suggest a written letter from Wikimedia Nigeria for each project as an evidence for our safety next time.

Thank you for the opportunity.
