Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Turkmen Wiktionary
Appearance
The following discussion is closed: result: KEEP. reason: arguments for closure are not up to date anymore, there are now over 2k entries and increasing every day, recentchanges and newpages show activity and gladly this project was not closed before native speakers had a chance to discover it and participate there..., --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 09:49, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
TK.wiktionary
No activity, only spambots. According to tk:wikt:Special:Newpages, there no "new page", just 16 pages without any definition, etymology etc., no edit after November 2007--Nick1915 - all you want 12:16, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- The previous statement (and most of the statements in this page) are quite out of date now. Go and have a look at tk.wikt. Besides, it seems that Nick1915 did not tried to publicly contact the Turkmen community before or immediatly after making this proposal (see 1 and 2). This characteristic feature in Proposals for closing projects of totally ignoring the specific language communities makes most proposals a farce. That is why I stopped losing my time by voting in them. People in Meta: a page called Proposals for opening irregularily closed projects would make more sense than your busy and cherished Proposals for closing projects right now --83.44.128.168 00:01, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Support
[edit]- Support Closure doesn' mean deletion. In the past 30 days no activity, other than 1 spam deletion. drini [es:] [commons:] 01:27, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- support. Doesn't meet the criteria for new (second) wikis (no localization etc.) and should therefore go back into the incubator until a community comes up. --Thogo (talk) 12:15, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Support No recent activity, no community. The content can always be preserved in Incubator for later use. Sr13 20:09, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Support 8 pages in main namespace, no activity, no localisation, no maintenance other than by stewards. Move to incubator and close until this is a viable community. Siebrand 15:31, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Oppose
[edit]- Oppose About 6 legitimate content pages. -- Prince Kassad 13:32, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

- --Ilaria - scrivimi 07:24, 18 August 2008 (UTC) 16 articles can become 100 in a few time --Ilaria - scrivimi 07:24, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose. Quite a lot of recent activity and page count is already 107. If it was dead before, it's not anymore. Malafaya 14:44, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose. Significant recent activity. ☺Coppertwig(talk) 01:03, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose. I'm a native user. I have been very busy translating things into Turkmen in Betawiki. I'm also a recent temporary sysop of tk wiki. I oppose because within three days I will be at tk wiktionary with plent many of new entries. I will also translate its interface and try to draw new users into it. Best regards!!!--Hanberke 05:47, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hanberke, your opposition does not change anything until this proposal is finished. The message informing about this proposal should not be removed from the main page of tk.wiktionary until that happens. Regards. --86.168.74.255 14:15, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- something has changed, looking the recent changes. happy to oppose this request t I've opened :)--Nick1915 - all you want 09:31, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Comments
[edit]> Closure doesn' mean deletion
- Drini, for most Wiktionaries, closure (i.e. being transferred to the Incubator) is as good as deletion. --83.44.128.168 00:05, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Could somebody please close and file this proposal at once. It was started without any caution to the Turkmen speaking community, the arguments for the people who supported it are far outdated now and, given the careless way some projects have been closed in the past, the keeping of this proposal is not very safe for tk.wikt. Thanks. --77.44.92.68 13:52, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
