Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Kazakh Wikiquote

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

The result of the following proposal for closing a WMF project is to CLOSE the project. Please, do not modify this page.

The Kazakh Wikiquote is completely dead. There has been practically no content edits to the project in at least a month, only edits were from maintenance bots. No community and no content. Proposing closure. Tempodivalse [☎] 21:33, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I propose to close this discussion in 10 days from now, on 27 of aprilDferg (talk) 10:18, 17 April 2009 (UTC) Prolonged, 3 votes are very few and since this proposals can be opened for months, lets get consensus either in support or oppose. —Dferg (talk) 10:07, 27 April 2009 (UTC) [reply]
In response to the concerns raised by 81.38.38.140, I've added a notice to the main page. Adambro 13:35, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Adambro. I have notified kk.wikipedia as well. --81.38.38.140 14:13, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  10. Support, Kazakh Wikiquote very inactive project. – Innv | d | s: 07:44, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  11. Support Looks like a brief revival of interest fizzled almost immediately. A Stop at Willoughby 02:12, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose closure

[edit]
  1. Oppose We can look for people that can contribute this, by asking people that live on the area the Kazakh idiom is spoken. --RubiksMaster110 07:10, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose I am currently an administrator at Kazakh Wikipedia and Wiktionary. Kazakh community is currently working on creating content for the encyclopedia and dictionary, and honestly Wikiquote was abandoned, but it would be nice of you if you still give us a chance to gather a community around the new project as well. I'll put an information on the Wikipedia's main page. GaiJin 15:42, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It seems the project has remained almost completely inactive for the past few months. Any progress updates? –Juliancolton | Talk 15:29, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]

This proposal has been opened since April 2009. While the current tally is leaning in favor for closing (7 support - 2 oppose), a total of only 9 votes seems pretty weak for a clear consensus. I think if more people can vote on this proposal, a decision can be made. --§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 08:02, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Per the recent votes, I have filed a Bugzilla request for closure. Thanks, Pmlineditor  11:09, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hey you beat me to it! :P Anyways, thank you for filing the bug request. :) —§ stay (sic)! 19:07, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
