Project Korikath/Report/2023
Project Korikath started as a non affiliate organized group in late 2022. This report includes statistics and reflections from the inception of the project to December 2023, and its future plans.
Reflections
[edit]Project Korikath has successfully drawn in a substantial number of non-Wikimedian photographers to Commons, showcasing an impressive outreach effort. It has established its own active community, which remained highly engaged throughout the past year. The community takes pride in its performance, achieved without any financial or professional support from the Wikimedia Foundation.
Despite a notable increase in contribution metrics, the usage metrics remain relatively low. Additionally, the quality metrics offer significant room for improvement, a focus area for the Project Korikath community in the upcoming year.
In the following year, Project Korikath will prioritize steady growth. The emphasis will shift towards enhancing the proper usage and quality assessment of the existing media files. Consequently, the rate of new media uploads is expected to decrease compared to the previous year, while the focus on improving quality and usage metrics will be paramount.
Furthermore, Project Korikath aims to explore new opportunities to sustain a steady inflow of resources. Efforts will be made to provide necessary photography gear for its globally distributed team.
In addition, Project Korikath will prioritize assisting its spinoffs in establishing efficient workflows and organizational structures unnder Korikath Incubator. Both Project Mowrossih and Project Shoili showcased promising performance last year, with Project Shoili fulfilling eight graphics requests from global communities (find in Wikimedia Commons category). Project Korikath aims to further support Project Shoili in significantly increasing this number.
