Porto Meeting 2018
Porto Meeting 2018 is the first meeting of wikimedians from Western Mediterranean centered on the Wikimedia projects (Wikipedia and sister projects). The meeting is going to take place in Porto, Portugal, from November 16 until November 18 2018. The idea of this meeting was conceived at an informal meetup that took place at Wikimedia Conference 2017 in Berlin and it follows the example of the meetings organized by Wikimedia CEE.
This meeting is part of a partnership proposal from several Wikimedia communities in Western Europe. The goal of the group is to stimulate growth in all Wikimedia projects and support all lingüistic communities in the region.
The main goal of the meeting is to promote and support cross-border collaboration between several Wikipedias in the region, finding joint strategies to help smaller linguistic languages. Engaging people in real life discussions, workshops and social events, communities are strengthened and capacities are developed and the public gets engaged with Wikimedia projects.
