Parliament Challenge
July 3, 2017 - July 24, 2017

Welcome!

  • What is this?: Since the restoration of democracy in Spain in 1977, hundreds of people have been part of the parliament and the senate, being protagonists of the political life in the last decades. However not everyone has article on wikipedia.
So it consists of creating or translating existing articles about Spanish parliamentaries and senators, from 1977 until the current legislature.
  • When?: The writing challenge will run from 00:01 (CET UTC+01:00) July 3, 2017 until 23:59 (CET UTC+01:00) July 24, 2017. So, only the work done between these dates will be included in the contest.
  • How?: The contest is based on a KISS point system: You get points while writing or translating articles to any language. The goal for each participant is to win as many points as possible. The scoring rules are as follows:
  • +1 point for each +1,000 bytes of added content in any language.
  • +1 point for each new Wikidata item created.
  • +2 points if the parliamentary exercises his position in the XII legislature.
  • +3 points for each new article in any language (included translations).
  • Who?: Everybody can participate on translating and writing articles. Any Wikipedian with a named account (on any wiki) can participate. To participate you just need to sign up on the Participants section.
If you are a new editor of Wikipedia, first of all, Welcome! We suggest that you take a look at Wikipedia:Translation and the Introduction. That will make it easier to get going! When you start writing, the Manual of Style might be of help. All these pages are available in many languages. Also, nowadays it is much easier to contribute to Wikipedia than ever before and you don't really have to learn any code! Please have a look at Wikipedia:VisualEditor for more information.
  • Important!: Only articles that have at least 3 references will be valued. An example could be this.
