Movement Strategy/Initiatives/Misinformation

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Identify the effects and mitigations of misinformation and disinformation

As part of Identifying Topics for Impact, we need to understand the effects of misinformation and disinformation as well as ways to mitigate both. When analyzing the impact of Wikimedia Projects, there may be insights not only to Wikimedia’s positive effects, but also to how its content can be harmful to users through misinformation and scams (for example: campaigns to add false content on a political topic on Wikipedia). Communities, researchers, and partners should discuss and work  collaboratively to develop tools to deal with misinformation and disinformation efforts.
