Good times everyone! I have some expierience with translate extention, and sometimes I need to mark some page for translation, but the only translation admin in our community is a busy man and it slows down my work. So I requesting translation adminship to improve my contribution to that project. --Красныйwanna talk? 18:18, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Красный: hello, could you give some examples where you have prepared pages for translation? Matiia (talk) 01:47, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Is it me, or I'm not allowed to do it until I get the translation adminship? Or what do you mean "prepared"? Красныйwanna talk? 07:55, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Красный: I mean to add translate tags, tvar or anything you think it's needed to a page. The work you need to do before clicking 'mark this page for translation'. Matiia (talk) 00:29, 9 November 2020 (UTC) Matiia (talk) 00:29, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oookay, I only added <lanuages/> to the pages, that we've translated without an extension like here. Красныйwanna talk? 03:59, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Красный: That's not enough, we need to know if you know how the extension works. Please prepare a page using <translate> and anything you think it's needed. Read this and this, if you have not done so. Pages like Stewards or CheckUser policy are some good examples (click 'edit') you can use. Matiia (talk) 13:11, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done here with a two languages. Красныйwanna talk? 06:26, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Красный: the page isn't well prepared. This (click 'translate') is like the translator would see it. Paragraphs are too big and there's no <tvar> for links or files. Matiia (talk) 13:12, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Instruction does not say that. It just say to put all text in <translate> and add languages link. Красныйwanna talk? 17:50, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Красный: but it's not enough, check the examples above and mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Page translation administration. Matiia (talk) 19:57, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Adding < translate > is literally just the first step of several... --MF-W 20:53, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, did the <tvar>s and others. Красныйwanna talk? 21:23, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Красный: the page still need some changes. Matiia (talk) 19:38, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed, bit it would be easier a little if you would specify what was wrong. Красныйwanna talk? 08:14, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot support this at this moment, the page do need changes, the text is way too big, it will be beneficial for it to be broken down into smaller translation units. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:27, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Красный: some paragraphs are too big yet. Matiia (talk) 15:06, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
We have «You don't need to add <translate> tags to all elements, or add markers like <!--T:1-->; the extension does it for you» here and markup examples here. I still don't understand your point: should I go against this reccomendations and split text into sentences (so why this recomendations even exist?) or just show you that I've read it by going against you? Красныйwanna talk? 15:55, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Красный What is needed here is to break down the translate text into smaller sections to ease translations. Ideally each translate section shouldn't be more than a few sentences. We don't add markers, as it will be automatically added but we can add more tags. Hope this explains Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 16:22, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, split it by 1-3 sentences. Thanks for the explaining. Красныйwanna talk? 06:15, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think it looks decent now. Maybe some more tvar'ing of links, but that is just decoration at that point. --MF-W 12:58, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Support Support again. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 13:01, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Could you prepare another page? btw, I did some changes here, you don't need to add so many translate tags, just add an empty line. Matiia (talk) 22:35, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Like this one? Красныйwanna talk? 21:15, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Seems a little odd with 2 English as languages. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 17:50, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's because it used Russian as a main language with a redirect from /ru (yeah, I know it's strange a little, but that's how it's done in Russian community). Красныйwanna talk? 18:41, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Might be able to set the language default to ru? Not too sure though. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 18:43, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Like here. Красныйwanna talk? 20:12, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, thanks, it looks fine :). Matiia (talk) 01:53, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
