Code fail

The headline of Meta:Administrators/Removal/October 2015 doesn't display correctly when included on Meta:Administrators/Removal, it shows "October 2014" as the previous, and "October 2015" as the next removal. It would be great if someone can fix it. --MF-W 15:35, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

of the fair use discussion here. I'm involved, so I can't do it. —MarcoAurelio 13:43, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi. I'll continue posting here until you fellow do your job instead of lazying or cowardly evading this legit request. The community's spoken, the policies spoken. What is delaying this? I'm dissapointed, as it's not even the first time this happens here. —MarcoAurelio 17:05, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
I guess that no one really cares to do something about it. -Barras talk 17:53, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

--Giselle Bordoy WMAR (talk) 13:06, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

I will have a look at it. Romaine (talk) 15:04, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
@Giselle Bordoy WMAR: Why in these countries? And the subject is advocacy, a subject that requires involvement of WMF. Have you spoken with WMF about this? We organised in Europa a information campaign early July this year and we spoke with Stephen LaPorte about this. Romaine (talk) 15:11, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi Giselle Bordoy WMAR, is there a consensus decision to run the banner on Spanish Wikipedia for users in Argentina? I'd also recommend sending an email to the [ https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/publicpolicy public policy mailing list] with more information about the issue. Thank you, Stephen LaPorte (WMF) (talk) 17:07, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Thanks Romaine and Stephen LaPortefor the support and the recommendations. WMAR is concern about this law and translate this subject to the Comcom list. I will send this matther to public policy list but we need to upload the banner at least in Argentina.

Thanks again. --Giselle Bordoy WMAR (talk) 14:55, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

@Giselle Bordoy WMAR: I see no opposition coming from Stephen, so I implemented the CentralNotice now. Romaine (talk) 17:58, 6 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks a lot Romaine --Giselle Bordoy WMAR (talk) 18:32, 6 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi Romaine can you help me with this request? --Giselle Bordoy WMAR (talk) 14:26, 9 October 2015 (UTC)

I am starting with it. Romaine (talk) 16:50, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
@Giselle Bordoy WMAR: Done Activated - Romaine (talk) 17:18, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Two lists with completely different criteria merged into one.

At https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Identification_noticeboard&action=history

User:GVarnum-WMF moved the page "Identification noticeboard" to "Access to nonpublic information policy/Noticeboard"

The latter lists the users who have signed the new confidentiality agreement, (which I have done), but the page that was moved lists the users who have proven their identities to the WMF (which I have also done). These are two different groups of users with some overlap.

By moving this page, I no longer have proof that I have identified my real legal name (Which in my case is the same as my user name; Guy Macon) to the WMF.

Also, were people who identified but who did not sign get automatically added to the list of users who have signed? What if some of them have no problem identifying themselves but do have a problem with the new confidentiality agreement?

Could we please keep these two lists of users separate? --Guy Macon (talk) 11:06, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

The identifications tracked on that page were specific to the old Access to nonpublic data policy. That policy is being replaced with the new Access to nonpublic information policy, which does not require identification. As a result, the previous noticeboard will not be maintained anymore and did not serve its original purpose. My understanding is that other departments that have their own identification needs (for things like grants) already maintains a separate list for their purposes.
If people do not agree with the new confidentiality agreement, they will not have access to non-public information, and will not be able to obtain or retain roles related to that information (such as Stewards, CheckUsers, etc.). Providing identification to the Community Advocacy team (who maintained both the old and new noticeboard) will not serve any purpose in that regards.
When Jalexander-WMF setup the new noticeboard, he moved the old one to an archived page. So, technically both lists still exist (this is noted in the header of the new list), but the identification board will no longer be maintained or actively used for its original purpose. --GVarnum-WMF (talk) 16:22, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Requesting help in template import

{{helpme}} Hi,

At this rfc discussion at wikimedia forum during my discussion to seek proper clarifications, I had to use en:w:Template:specify and en:w:Template:which.

Undersigned kindly requests your help in importing these templates from en wikipedia to meta. thanks and regards. Mahitgar (He who knows ,wants to know and and loves to keep others informed) (talk) 06:53, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Those templates are pretty much for encyclopedic use and not really needed on a project that isn't an encyclopedia. We are some sort of a discussion/coordination project, where those templates aren't normally needed and so I won't import them. Marking as Not done. If someone else feels the need for it, I won't argue against it. -Barras talk 12:48, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
In theory you may be right in practice I needed those templates to seek clarification during the discussion.(These templates are not likely to cause any harm to Meta after all) I thought we are supposed to be freedom oriented project not enveloped in beurocracy for the beurocracy sake. I am bit surprised with your point of view, I wish your view gets reviewed by some one else.
Thanks any way and rgds
Mahitgar (He who knows ,wants to know and and loves to keep others informed) (talk) 18:15, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
The templates you linked to are mostly useful for encyclopedic articles in my opinion. Clarification can be sought in discussions without using templates. I'm not sure I understand why you think this is bureaucracy; I think they are not useful on Meta, so I agree with Barras here. --Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 18:26, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

CentralNotice change for UA

Hi,

Could you please remove Ukraine (UA) from the list of countries for WAM_2015_11 banner? We currently have an ongoing photo contest (campaign ESPC_2015_UA) until 2015-11-01 and we would not like to have WAM_2015_11 displayed in Ukraine. Thanks — NickK (talk) 10:30, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

Done. Can you also provide uk translation for "close" (used on tooltip for the close button)? I noticed that it's using a Dutch word currently. --Glaisher (talk) 11:01, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
I have no idea, why Dutch word is used, because MediaWiki:Centralnotice-shared-hide/uk does exist. -- Ата (talk) 11:31, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
I've updated it now. I guess Romaine was copying from a Dutch banner and then forgot to update the translation. --Glaisher (talk) 15:56, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
