Hi, I am active again and the first permission which I usually need is a bot flag on Meta :D As usual, it's used for automated creation/modification of the subpages of particular pages which I am maintaining. In this case, it's about Names of Wikimedia languages, but it will be about other pages in the future, as well. Those are non-controversial edits with organizational purpose. Millbot had a bot flag in the past, but I was inactive and thus didn't have sense to keep it at that time. --Millosh (talk) 17:34, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
- @Millosh: Can you please do some testing? -- M\A 21:45, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
- @MarcoAurelio: I already did as myself :D Take a look into my contributions. At some point of time I realized that it doesn't have sense to do everything manually. --Millosh (talk) 10:40, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
- @Millosh: Thank you. I see that also Godzzzilica is carrying the same task. Are you both in the project and, if the bot is approved, will you do all those edits via the bot? -- M\A 13:33, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
- @MarcoAurelio: Yes, we are working on the same project. The purpose of the bot is to help generating content and preparing it for manual work. (If we have a guess from Wikidata, it will be yellow.) In this case, Wikimedians should correct or add the names of Wikimedia languages in their languages. Initially, it was a low level task, thus it could pass under my username. However, I've realized that I need fixes from time to time (the last issue was misspelled "GraMatical") when I realized that it would start to contaminate RecentChanges too much. Similarly, the bot will be used for lexicographical terms, for Ornithological dictionary, but for a number of other similar small multilingual projects, where Meta is the most appropriate place to do things. --Millosh (talk) 07:06, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
