This bot will solely be sending mass messages when publishing the global version of The Signpost. See its enwiki BRfA here. Technically it doesn't even need a bot flag, just a mass message right. Thanks! Kharkiv07 (T) 00:07, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- Even if bot flag is not needed, thanks for opening this so this can be approved. It'd be good if you could create the bot userpage with contact info (such as
{{bot|operator}}
). Also, some users already requested MassMessage sender rights. Is your bot going to takeover manual processing of Signpost delivery. If so, how it is supposed to work? Thank you. —MarcoAurelio 20:28, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, I requested manual permissions because our old bot, LivingBot, wasn't functioning properly so in the time that it took to get this bot up and running I had to manually send out the notices, this will be taking that over. I'll go ahead and create an userpage. Thanks for the quick response! Kharkiv07 (T) 21:59, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. Then this is a request for bot flag (even if not needed, we tend to add the flag to approved bots) and massmessage rights. Given the task details and your explanation, I'm in favor to grant both rights requested, however I'd like to hear from other community members before taking a decision. If LivingBot is not working properly or is going to be inactive, perhaps their flags should be removed, what do you think? Thanks. —MarcoAurelio 08:57, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
- Bureaucrat note: I plan to close this as successful in 48 hours aprox. if no objections are raised. —MarcoAurelio 09:30, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- Support granting bot and massmessage-sender rights. If this bot replaces LivingBot which doesn't work properly then this last bot should be removed from massmessage-sender group.--Syum90 (talk) 12:24, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- No objections. Courcelles 17:11, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- Is the bot source code available somewhere for review? User:KharBot still does not exist. --MZMcBride (talk) 22:45, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
- I don't check meta as much as I should, but I have created a userpage for KharBot, and I have no preference as to whether rights are removed from LivingBot or not. I should add that KharBot is in extended trial at enwiki and has been granted a bot flag there. Thanks! Kharkiv07 (T) 01:29, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
- I have removed LivingBot's flags since it'd be pointless to keep them if the bot was going not to edit anymore. When you're ready for a trial here, poke us so I can grant you rights and, depending on the result, approve the bot. —MarcoAurelio 11:19, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
- Trial approved for next signpost delivery. Please report back to us when completed. —MarcoAurelio 10:22, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Kharkiv07: I see that your bot sent a Signpost delivery yesterday. How it went? —MarcoAurelio 19:13, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry I forgot to respond here! All went well, at least on Meta's end. Kharkiv07 (T) 23:45, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
Approved and flagged with bot and massmessage-sender rights. —MarcoAurelio 13:05, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
