I want to get approval for a bot with translation admin rights that will automatically mark pages for translations if and only if the latest version is identical to the version that is already in the translation system, i.e. only pages with no "net" changes in the pending edits. I am filing almost identical requests for bot approval on a bunch of wikis, and figured I should put some of the details in a central location. Please see User:DannyS712/TranslationBot for further info. --DannyS712 (talk) 03:05, July 21, 2024 (UTC)

  • Support the idea of running a bot for this - the translation queue is badly backlogged as it, so removing some clear non-problems will help out. When I was clearing that queue (which I haven't been motivated to do lately) I often found pages needing to be semi-protected from vandals if they had no changes, but the need to protect them is less if a human doesn't need to tmark every change, so it's no big deal if that doesn't happen. * Pppery * it has begun 20:15, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done - @DannyS712, it appears that there isn't much to comment here. Apart from the highly trusted and skilled maneuverer, the rationale and case use is clear. --M/ (talk) 19:40, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
