I would like to be a sysop because I can do the cleanup work as needed...I use the button as appropriate to delete/protect/block and I like to think that I'm doing the correct thing but I make mistakes and always asking guys to fix me. I don't have a whole lot of contributions here as the counters say. I help in the Arabic wiki mainly (from editing as anon to check potential sockpuppet abusers) , And with bot-like work on the English one. I also help with our email system. - Comment: while he didn't refer himself, Alnokta is an experienced Wikipedia editor on Arabic Wikipedia (ar-n, en-2 or more), granted Checkuser access. While he is not terribly active here on meta, we have many sysops in a similar activity level, and he sometimes has given a help on several pages. No need to be sorry :), Here is a mistake I did in not writing in a clearer way which lead to you being irritated and for that I'm sorry..I didn't know that you will find the statement irritating until you noticed me, That is what I mean by

"You think You do it right but make it wrong"...Sometimes, You cannot find the 100% certainty and you need to utilize your best judgment and hope for the good..And you may ask as you wish..Hope that answers your question..btw, Nice to see you use Salam :). Sysops can do things which have wider impact and harder to reverse (at least "politically" so). And they are supposed fix things for people, not the other way round. Your self-recommendation is worrying. Hillgentleman 15:42, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is it a bad trait now to be able to admit your own mistakes? Am I supposed to say that I know everything, I never do anything wrong, You cannot possibly find a glitch in my decisions and actions? Am I to say that I'm perfect? An advice If I may relay to you, "You cannot learn without making mistakes and if you want to learn, you have to ask". Support a strong one; meta is a central project, and native Arabic admins are needed here. Alnokta is very active back on ar.wiki, him being here in meta would server not just meta but the Arabic community both on meta and on arawiki. His is a part of so many projects as a user, sysop , checkuser and Bureaucrat. He is available on the IRC most of the time (sometimes 24/24), #wikipedia-ar, #wikimedia-commons,#wikimedia #mediawiki, #pywikipediabot, #wikimedia-stewards, #wikimedia-tech, ... you name it. He is voiced on #wikimedia-commons, and an op on #wikipedia-ar. All in all, trust worthy, and is needed by Arab community. --Tarawneh 17:25, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I ran out of time yesterday. I understand what Hillgentleman is saying but I see that as the way you expressed your request rather than declaring incompetence!
