I am requesting temporary adminship to help with the WLM US CentralNotice banners. I am trusted on Commons, familiar with the CentralNotice tool and my activity would be limited to this. This is necessary to ensure that more than one WLM US coordinator is able to control campaigns. Mono 02:17, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Why don't you ask CN adminship? --Base (talk) 16:07, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Sure, last time I did this, that didn't exist. Mono 23:51, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Support CNA. User has done this before, just fine. Courcelles 02:08, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Very experienced, has done this before, won't break the wiki. PiRSquared17 (talk) 03:07, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Support - Thought I supported this days ago when I moved it O_o. Oh well, here I am now! Trusted user who probably won't break anything. Ajraddatz (Talk) 03:24, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- The CentralNotices, including those of the US, are (like 2012) maintained by the international team that organizes Wiki Loves Monuments, in particular me. At the moment there is already a banner active for the US. There is no other WLM US coordinator active with banners and you haven't communicated with us about the banners. I do not think it is a good idea to act without communication, that will only cause driving in each others wheels. Romaine (talk) 04:30, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm more than happy to work with you on the banners. I have asked both on the mailing list and the IRC channel multiple times about the organization of the CN banners and I have received no response. Mono 05:04, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Strong oppose, I recall issues last time this user was granted a temporary userright on meta. Snowolf How can I help? 05:12, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Any pointers towards those issues? I didn't have any impressions of his performance last time positive or negative. Courcelles 21:35, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I guess it's referring to Meta talk:Requests for adminship/Mono (temp), but I didn't remember that. (Also, Commons POTY here confuses me.) However, I trust Mono to do a good job and learn from any other mistakes made in the past (I don't remember anything else about the temp adminship). PiRSquared17 (talk) 21:54, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- We once considered doing translations for POTY here (we rigged our own translation system for POTY stuff) before Commons got the translate extension. I think this was what Snowolf is referring to; not sure exactly what the issue was other than there were some problems with the banners that got fixed as soon as I heard. Mono 03:00, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Set banners to high priority over more important items, the banners were obnoxious and bothering users, he altered the main page to feature prominently POTY when there was a banner right on top doing that and without precedents for Main page standards (wikivoyage got a simple pointed element on the list). Snowolf How can I help? 19:27, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- You seem very confused about facts. "I recall issues last time this user was granted a temporary userright on meta." This rationale has nothing to do with any special user rights. In fact, I was highly responsive to any and all concerns; as you can see here your claim about setting banners is unwarranted. Mono 22:47, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- You say temporary rights in your request. For how long do you need the rights then? -Barras talk 09:20, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Until October 1, but I will likely be helping with POTY banners next year so it may be redundant. Mono 21:15, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Then you may re-request it next year. -Barras talk 15:58, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Successful - granted temporary until October 1, 2013. -Barras talk 15:58, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
