Malaysia-Türkiye Wiki Friendship is a project organized by Wikimedians who are active in Turkish or Malaysian Wikimedia projects. This project aims to enrich Wikimedia contents about Turkey or Malaysia and strengthen the collaboration between the two communities.

Before the launch

After Wikimania 2024, young Wikipedians in Malaysia and Turkey decided to brainstorm on a joint friendship project. As a result, the first concrete meeting took place online on November 11, 2024. At the meeting, it was agreed that the friendship project will start with a Wiki student clubs edit-a-thon in January.

Vision

  • Collaboration between student clubs in both countries
  • Working on collaboration and joint projects between local communities/clubs and participants
  • Enriching Wikimedia contents about Malaysia and Turkey
