By harnessing the potential of digital innovation and online platforms such as Wikipedia, Wikidata, and other digital media, we aim to create a comprehensive and immersive experience that celebrates the state's rich legacy, diverse traditions, historic landmarks, and the untold stories of its vibrant communities.
What are the project, campaign, or event goals?
[edit]Comprehensive Digital Documentation: Create a detailed and extensive online repository of Kwara State's cultural and historical heritage, including articles, images, videos, and audio files, and other digital media, to preserve the state's rich history and cultural legacy. Community-Led Digital Preservation: Empower community members to take ownership of their cultural heritage by training them to document and preserve their history, cultural practices, and traditions using digital tools and platforms. Cultural Promotion and Showcase: Showcase Kwara State's rich cultural diversity, historical landmarks, and vibrant community life to a global audience, promoting cross-cultural understanding, appreciation, and tourism. Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing among community members, researchers, cultural enthusiasts, and stakeholders to ensure that expertise and resources are leveraged effectively. Capacity Building and Digital Literacy: Provide training and capacity-building initiatives for community members to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to document, preserve, and showcase their cultural heritage. Sustainable Partnerships: Establish sustainable partnerships with local and international organizations to ensure the project's long-term viability, impact, and scalability.
