Koshur Collective is a collaborative space, mainly comprised of researchers, created by Deoband Community Wikimedia and the Kashmiri Wikimedians User Group. It aims to create awareness about Wikimedia's open ecosystem in Kashmir and envisions a sustainable digital open infrastructure for Kashmiri language. Initial researchers in this group include Baad-e-Sabaa, Mazarposh and ThePoeticFrame. The collective currently focuses on needs assessment initiatives.
History[edit]
The collective was formed as a part of DCW's half-yearly strategic plan for April-September 2024. Initial meetings were held at Jamia Millia Islamia and a formal meeting on the collective's need was held on 2 June 2024 on Google Meet. The collective organized its first in-person meetup on 9 June 2024 at Verinag Spring.
