Deliberation

  • Dr. Vishwanatha Badikana explained that the audit report and filing were completed recently. The CA will be applying for the B12 application later this month. The address of the Karavali Wikimedia User Group will be updated.
  • A policy is being developed for using the KWUG name in projects and grant applications. If anyone wishes to apply for a grant or initiate a project, the KWUG Executive Committee must be informed through the proper channel, particularly via email, and approval must be obtained to use the KWUG name.
  • The Executive Committee is eager to create a mailing list for the Karavali Wikimedian User Group and submit a request to WMF. Dr. Pavanaja will take this forward with the WMF.
  • Proposals related to projects or individual representation should also be communicated to the community to maintain transparency, celebrate participation, and preserve the uniqueness of involvement.
  • It was decided to hold executive meetings either monthly or every two months, before the regular monthly meeting, with deliberations to be presented at the monthly meeting.
  • Bharathesha suggested that a dedicated session should be held once every two months or more frequently, ensuring the availability of resource persons across all Wikimedia projects.
  • Mr. Kishore Kumar Sheni emphasized that the community should align around a common agenda along with trust and safety.
