On February 25th, 2024, a session titled Wikipedia and Wikisource: Why and How was held at the University of Göttingen. The event began with an overview of both platforms, explaining their purposes and how they work. The importance of free knowledge preservation through Wikipedia and Wikisource was emphasized. The discussion then shifted to copyright in Iran, clarifying which works are in the public domain and which are not, relevant to both platforms.

The instructor, Darafsh, demonstrated the full process of uploading files to Wikimedia Commons and using them in Persian Wikisource. He explained how to index files and discussed the various stages of text processing on Wikisource, including "Problematic," "Not proofread," "Proofread," and "Validated."

For Wikipedia, the instructor explained how to create and edit articles, properly cite sources, and follow Wikipedia's content creation guidelines.

The session concluded with a Q&A, allowing participants to ask their questions.
