Iranian Wikimedians User Group/Software Freedom Day in Tehran 2016

Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual worldwide celebration of Free Software. SFD is a public education effort with the aim of increasing awareness of Free Software and its virtues, and encouraging its use.

like previous years, Iranian FOSS activists and Enthusiasts gathered in Sharif University of Technology in Tehran to celebrate values of Free and open-source software. They share their experience from with new tools and what they have learn throughout the year.

This year Iranian Wikimedians User Group members had several presentation and one workshop in this ceremony. Amir had two presentations about:

Darafsh's presentation was met with considerable attention

Wikipedia Education Program is one of the most important WMF projects which has a lot to offer. Darafsh Talked about education program. Sharif university is one of the leading Iranian engineering universities. Our team has made some connection with teachers and students. Now we are planning to have on-site workshops and Cooperating with them Regarding Education program and Wikipedia itself.

Also, a Wikipedia Editing Workshop was held by Arian who is one of our youngest volunteers. This Was the first Wiki Workshop of this «Size» (magnitude?!) Held In Iran.
