- Judge's comment: I've reviewed, and vote to approve, this entry, with reservations (see article's talk page). StuRat 03:42, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- Also note that this article: n:en:Louisiana officials accused of blocking rescue volunteers from September 2 was republished essentially in the same form that it was un-published, and appears to have been accepted by the community. I'd like it to be reconsidered. - Borofkin 11:28, 5 September 2005 (UTC)
- Judge's comment: Sorry, I still can't recommend it. My original comment still applies:
- "I reviewed it, and decided it wasn't ready to publish due to unconfirmed POV sources and lack of opposing POV. I would welcome the opinions of other judges on this matter. StuRat 16:00, 2 September 2005 (UTC)"

- Well folks, it's time for me to bow out. If you remember the story I posted yesterday, it was about 140 Katrina refugees being taken in to Knoxville. By a flight Al Gore chartered. Well, I live in Knoxville, and there are about 750 more people going to arrive and stay for the foreseeable future. I'm now volunteering to help with the Red Cross shelters where the people will be staying; I just got back from the first public meeting, with the Mayor and Red Cross guy and such. Great turnout, the city is really gearing up for this. It would make a great story, but with my new commitments, I don't have the time... See you all around... City, county make room for 750 displaced

- By the way, I followed your advice about the linking to interwiki pages.
- Judge's comment: It looks like it relies too heavily on a single source, please add more material from other sources and let us know to take another look. StuRat 16:32, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- It's a Reuters only story. All the news networks carried this exact story. Try doing a news search, you'll see what I mean.

- I am withdrawing from the contest. It seems to me all that is happening is the re-reporting of other sources' news. I don't see the challenge in this. Let me know when there is an original reporting contest. In the meantime I will continue to contribute when there is a story that is not picked up by the main stream (mostly from W.Africa, as you've seen) and will work on some original pieces that broaden what is out there instead of merely repeating it. Cheers and good luck to the rest of you.
- Too bad, had you added stories with original reporting and photographs here, you would have gotten lots of bonus jokers and likely would have been one of the contest winners. StuRat 03:09, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

- n:es:Incumpliendo una decisión judicial autoridades electorales prohíben presencia de observadores en elecciones egipcias
- Judge's comment: That title sure looks long to me, is there any way to shorten it ? StuRat 03:00, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- How about this: Autoridades electorales mantienen prohibición de observadores en elecciones egipcias. The news here is that they decided to ignore a court order. --Ascánder 09:24, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- Judge's comment: That's better, but still seems on the long side. Of course, since you are the only Spanish-language judge, I will defer to your judgment over whether that is the shortest title, in Spanish, which conveys all the relevant information for a reader to decide if they want to read the story or not. The defiance of the court order does seem to be critical, however. In English, something like "Spanish electoral authorities defy court - continue Egypt election observer ban" would be short and convey the important facts, assuming this story is about Spain, and not some other Spanish-speaking nation. Can something like that be written in Spanish ? StuRat 14:00, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- Judge's comment: I don't know whether n:es:Autoridades electorales mantienen prohibición de presencia de observadores en elecciones egipcias is the best title or not, but I think it is correct. Reviewed and approved --Edub 12:28, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
- Ok, are you sure the name of the country doesn't matter ? StuRat 13:36, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
- The news is about Egypt, egyptian election ("elecciones egipcias"). Election monitors are independent. Sorry about my poor english --Edub 15:12, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
- Ok, I thought it was about Spain and Egypt, as in Spain not sending election monitors to Egypt. StuRat 16:03, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
