#IWe{{Language}} is an annual Wikimedia language editor recognition and appraisal project.

Positive Mainspace diff-contribution Ks into language projects is counted by using , File uploads and Data contribution edits

Recognition and awarding

  1. Everybody adding 5K[1] text into the article space within language projects during the run is counted as participant (via Wikiscan). Respective Username is included into the table and gets the right to wear a contest tag on the User Page.
  2. Wikidata and Commons contribution is assessed for Usernames qualifying (1) in any of the Text-based projects in respective language (via Simple Counter). +1kb Mainspace text is set to equal 1 uploaded File or 10 Wikidata/Structural Date on Commons edits.
  3. Everybody getting 100 points throughout the period qualifies as a finalist.
  4. Top 3 from every year are inscribed into the Hall of Fame and marked by , and .
  5. Partnering sponsors can recognize and award as many leading users with material prizes (to be described in each year's local language landing page)

History

Originally started in Tatar Wikipedia as a fall-to-spring component (Nov.1-Apr.30), in 2024-2025 run was extended to cover Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikinews, Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikivoyage, as well as Commons, but was instead reformatted as a a calendar year long + as well as adding new languages.

The project was originally initiated in 2022 by Wikimedia Russia and Wikimedia Community of Tatar language User Group in partnership with Milliard.tatar project of the Tatarstan regional state media holding Tatmedia.
