Backlinks and images
Backlinks don't seem to work properly (v1.5.3) when an image file (in my case actually a document) has been linked using [[:Image:... rather than [[Media:..., i.e. to produce a link to the image description page rather than directly to the image itself. Both the "What links here" page and the automatically generated "Links" section on the page come up blank. Any comments on feature vs fault & workarounds? Zupa 20:49, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
Displaying links in a chronological descending order
I would like to ask a question on the What links here tool and did not know where to pose the question. Forgive me if this is the wrong venue, you may remove this entire text and point me in the right direction.
My question, or really a suggestion, is “how can I get the list of items that links to an article to be displayed in a chronological descending order. I find this page (What links here) very useful when staying on top of articles of interest and discovering what new articles are referencing the article. Some of the articles have quite lengthy links and it's a real pain to constantly scroll down through the entire list each time. If the option is there to change a preference or make it a default, would be much appreciated. Any help on this topic would be welcomed.
Thanks, 142.162.59.52 00:49, 29 January 2006 (UTC) HJKeats
- Unfortunately it seems that the order cannot be controlled at all.--Patrick 08:14, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe controlled is not the option I'm looking for. Would it be possible to set it such that at all times and by everyone the default would be to display the last items first? Thanks Patrick for taking the time to respond to my question. 142.162.59.52 22:40, 30 January 2006 (UTC) HJKeats
- That is not the default, so would be some control, and I think that is not possible.--Patrick 00:48, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Including information on what had previously linked here?
I think it could possibly be useful for the What linked here pages to also list pages that had linked to the article in the past "What linked here". (I don't know if the software would have the means to do this?) This might help uncover POV deletions of relevant links from other pages, among other things. 69.205.33.78 19:25, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that would be useful.--Patrick 12:09, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
