Explain your plan
[edit]Tell us about how you contribute currently, and how you would contribute if WMF were to gift a used laptop to you.
I’m a contributor since 2013 particularly on Wikipedia, Commons, Wikibook and Wikiquote. I’am also involved in the building of a local affiliate community in Côte d’Ivoire. In fact, I’m a cofounder and the chairman of Wikimedia Community User Group since his recognition in 2014. I’ve have been reelected for the current mandate 2017 – 2018. In my chairman roles, I work like a trainer, speaker or program Manager & Designer for the Wikimedia projects. So this laptop will help me to improve my capacities.

Comment
Papiscou, you haven't tell us exactly why you need this laptop. Do you plan to keep it so that people who attends training/workshop without a laptop can use it? Can you tell us why you need additional laptop. Thanks. Wikicology (talk) 18:42, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, I plan to give it to attendees without laptop during training/workshop/editathon.--Papischou (talk) 16:04, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
- Is this request not in violation of the criteria stated here which suggest that beneficiary must be an active member of the community? To request equipment to be shared amongst your community members, see Grants:Project/Rapid/Learn#Facilities, equipment and materials. If I'm correct, WMF has 20 laptops to give out and there are hundreds of project leaders across the globe. If every project leader is making same request with the rationale " I plan to give it to attendees without laptop during training/workshop/editathon., or something like This laptop will not be for me but for participants, as i already have a laptop. Or My community do not have a spare laptop, how do they share the 20 laptops? Wikicology (talk) 19:06, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
- No, it is not in violation of the criteria at all. Papischou is an active member of the community, and that satisfies the criterion. The program does not prohibit requesting a spare laptop for use by people who have some proven record of outreach activities. Asaf (WMF) (talk) 20:39, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification, Asaf (WMF). With kind regards. Wikicology (talk) 11:26, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
