Green Expressions/YOUNGO
This engagement will help young climate and/or environmental advocates learn how to access communication materials and platforms that reach both international and local audiences with stories of youth work and the people behind them. We will build and share knowledge through a webinar titled 'Telling stories of youth action in climate movements'. This webinar will explore wikimedia projects as storytelling platforms for public memory. The session will be guided by knowledge sharing on:
- Importance of storytelling
- Wikimedia accounts, free licensing and upload campaign for commons
This will be followed by a practical session on upload campaign for commons that will focus on showing:
- How to upload photos or audio recordings on commons
- How to connect uploaded photos and audio recordings on commons to wikipedia articles
- Participants how to navigate the complexity of commons – i.e. searching for media, etc
The knowledge from the webinars will be applied in the upload drive of Voice recordings and photos of youth action from around the world as well as social media storm to share the work done.
