Grants talk:TPS/Mohammed Galib Hasan/ICEEL2017

Mohammed Galib Hasan The education team would like to endorse this TPS, but you need to revise it to reflect that you will be presenting about your local activities in Taiwan and Bangladesh, and not about "global education." We are concerned about the messaging of "global education," as neither presenter has expertise or experience in that field. We are very happy to support a presentation that recognizes local achievements. If you revise the TPS to reflect that, we can gladly endorse it. NSaad (WMF) (talk) 19:55, 6 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, NSaad (WMF) for your reply. Yes, I also agree with you about to represent the local activities in Taiwan and Bangladesh. That's why I have Changed the Goal and Expected impact section. I believe that, if we show our Local Wikipedia Community progress in the Conference like how they are working, the participants will be more interested about Wikipedia Education program.Note that, I have revised the presentation and made the correction. Request funded

[edit]

Dear Mohammed Galib Hasan,

We are pleased to fund your request to participate in ICEEL2017.

In general, we prefer to avoid funding two participants for one presentation at the same event. However, in this case, Nichole Saad of the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Team has written me to let me know that this partnership is strategically valuable for the Education Team because of the specific opportunity for learning and development, so we are making an exception. We understand that Nichole has helped you to develop your proposal accordingly.

We also understand that you have reached out to local Wikimedians in Thailand and will meet with them during the conference. That's great that you are taking advantage of the opportunity to meet with volunteers in the vicinity.

Before you decide to accept funding support, please make sure to read all of the steps required of TPS participants and confirm that you are prepared to meet our requirements, as described in the "How the program works" page.

Note that you will need to submit a post-event report, due 14 days after the event. The report requires you to link to an outcome. Fulfilling the outcome requirement tends to be the most challenging task for TPS recipients. Please consider in advance how you would meet the requirement. Some applicants mistakenly assume they can submit the materials they presented at the event (such as a slide deck, a research paper or a poster) to meet the outcome requirement. We do like you to link to your presentation materials, but they do not meet the outcome requirement. An outcome must be something that is created during or after the event because of your participation. The purpose is to extend the value of your participation beyond the conference. For example, your outcome could be something new that was co-created by you and your fellow participants at the event, like one or more articles on Wikipedia improving content about a topic that conference participants know about. Your outcome could also be a blog post you write after the event to share your conference learnings with others who did not attend the conference. You may also write a learning pattern to teach others something you've learned at the event. If you are not sure how to meet the outcome requirement, we recommend that you reach out to us with questions.

Our Grants Administrator will be in touch with you about your grant. Please be advised that you will each need to sign separate agreements for your individual portion of the approved budget.

Thank you for work on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation.

Warm regards, --Marti (WMF) (talk) 19:51, 10 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Certificate signature

[edit]

Does File:ICEEL 2017(9).jpg mean you gave out certificates saying they were "From Wikimedia Foundation"? Seems quite misleading, you're not a representative of the Wikimedia Foundation. --Nemo 12:27, 12 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
