@Jtud (WMF): Hello, The whole Wikipedia Education program is new to wiki world let alone world outside of Wikimedia movement , as one of the first initiative of education program in Iran, it is very important for us/me to use any possible opportunity to use this networking capacity, it is a very important step. This investment that we put in networking with people will flower very soon. I think It is the investment that we need to put in Asia now, also it seems foundation share the same vision with me, as now we have a person focusing on Education in Asia. Many teachers and peers will be there, so it is the best time to help future/current teachers to learn about what are the benefits of using Wikipedia as teaching tool. This conference is very well-respected among teachers in university level, meeting many decision-makers around Asia is also plus side to this conference. I assume people from education program can also vouch my request. This year the conference has Theme of Educating for Change which fully aligned with our mission, as we also try to do the same. this is also great opportunity to learn back from peers about their endeavors as-well. Thank you for your reply, Mardetanha. We agree that it is important work. However, TPS is not the avenue for funding your request since the program is designed to fund active participation with event organizers confirming their talk, workshop, hackathon, etc. is accepted as part of the conference. -- Best, JTud (WMF), Grants Administrator (talk) 19:35, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
