Grants talk:TPS/Luisalvaz/I Congresso Científico Brasileiro da Wikipédia
Add topicRequest not funded
[edit]Dear Luisalvaz,
Thank you for submitting this request. In general, TPS only funds participation in non-Wikimedia events, unless there are extenuating circumstances that would prompt us to make an exception. Since this is a Wikimedia event, we suggest that you contact the event organizers directly to seek assistance with travel costs.
Best regards,

- Hello User:Mjohnson (WMF), that event is part of our user group plans, but not grant from WMF will be used to organize that conference, we are organizing everything in a very organic way in partnership with local universities. So, we don't have budget for travel/scholarships. There are any way to make an exception for that first Brazilian scientific conference? Rodrigo Padula (talk) 02:30, 1 September 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Dear Luisalvaz,
In light of the information provided by Rodrigo Padula via email and this talkpage and input from WMF's Simple APG Program Officer, we've come to understand that we made an incorrect determination that this is a Wikimedia event. In light of that, and in light of Rodrigo's glowing endorsement, indicating that your participation will "open many possibilities for the next years, creating a strong connection between the Brazilian and Ibero-american academic communities," we are happy to fund your participation in this event.
Please review the next steps for your grant as described in "How the program works". Your post-event report must provide a link to an outcome from your participation. We recommend that you start planning your outcome now so you are prepared to submit it as part of your report, which is due 14 days after the event. Note that an outcome does not include the materials you prepare to present at the event (though we’d like you to link to those, too), but something that is created during or after the event because of your participation, such as a link to something new that was co-created by you and your fellow participants at the event, a blog post you wrote to share your experience with others after the event, or a learning pattern to teach others something you've learned at the event.
Our Grants Administrator will be in touch with you about your grant. Thank you for work on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation.
Warm regards, --Marti (WMF) (talk) 20:41, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
