Grants talk:TPS/Flixtey/Wa Kiwix Project
Add topicRequest not funded
[edit]Hello Flixtey,
Though the Participation Committee appreciates the objectives of your proposal, this request is outside the scope of the TPS program, which funds Wikimedians to actively represent Wikimedia at events around the world. It sounds like you will not be traveling to attend an event, but rather to implement a project. If that is not correct, please reply here and clarify.
If that is correct, then you can apply for project funding through a Project and Event Grant (PEG). Kacie Harold is the Program Officer and can help you shape your proposal, if you need support. She can give you insight about how much lead time you need between you application submission date and your project date.
Thanks for your work on behalf of the Wikimedia movement!

- Hi Marti (WMF),
- This was actually an event organised at the WA Senior High Technical School by a Wikimedian in the region. The 1st day included the installation of a Kiwix software for the school and the second day a training of the entire student population on an introduction to Wikipedia and sister projects and the need for such softwares (Kiwix).
- I joined as a volunteer mainly for my experience in such training and to talk at one of the sessions (Wikipedia zero). I spoke to @Jtud (WMF): on the possibility of attending and receiving a reimbursement after. I attended already and working on my report now. --Flixtey (talk) 16:48, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
- As explained above, here is a report of the event Grants:TPS/Flixtey/Wa Kiwix Project/Report --Flixtey (talk) 09:04, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Flixtey, thank you for the additional follow-up information. In light of it, we are happy to cover you transportation, food and accommodation costs. Unfortunately, the internet costs are not an eligible expense within the TPS program. Thank you for the good work you have done on this project. I will provide further comments on your report. --Marti (WMF) (talk) 17:31, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks Marti (WMF) for this update. I am glad for the reconsideration and clarification. --Flixtey (talk) 08:50, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
