Questions about your request

Dear CristianCantoro,

Thank you for submitting this request. It sounds like you are doing interesting research!

Can you say more about the nature of your participation in this event? Do you have a talk accepted in the program? If so, what is your talk about and what are your goals for delivering it at this event? If you do not have a talk accepted, what other forms of participation do you anticipate?

I would also like you to revise your goals to make it clearer what benefits you anticipate your participation in this event would bring to the Wikimedia movement. For example, you have said your goals is to interact with other researchers and scientists and bring a focus to Wikipedia. This sounds like a useful strategy, but what outcome do you intend to result from these interactions? Again, since you are applying for funding, we are looking for outcomes that will benefit the Wikimedia movement. For example, a goal might be: to get agreement from at least three publishers to release bibliographic datasets to load on to Wikidata.

Hi Marti, sorry for the late reply. I didn't notice your message before I was already at the conference and then I had a busy weekend coming back. I did not have a presentation at the conference, but I did participate in some workshops on scholarly commons that were designed with a participatory approach such as these sessions on "The Scholarly Commons: systemic visions of the future" and "The Scholarly Commons: systemic change" by Chris and Katie Chapman of the scholarly commons working group. In these sessions, participants were invited to contribute to the discussion about the future of scholarly commons and what can be done to extend the adoption of scholarly commons.

As per the outcomes you mention, alas, I was not able to obtain the release of any dataset. --CristianCantoro (talk) 20:18, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
