Comments on your request[edit]

Dear Ahmed Mohi El din,

Thank you for submitting this request. I'm glad to hear that you are interested in participating in the 6th International conference for Arabic language, as a representative of Wikimedia projects.

As I understand it, your plan for this event includes the following:

  • discuss how to increase the Arabic content on the internet by editing (Wikipedia as encyclopedia & Education program)
  • show how Wikipedia is important for spread the knowledge
  • complete the work we started at 4th edition of the conference with the League of Arab state
  • start the Education program in the Gulf Area
  • complete the discussion about Wikimedia projects with Mohmed Ben Rashid El Maktum foundation
  • try making partnerships with the league of the Arab state.

It sounds like your overall goal is to "increase the Arabic content on the internet and increase awareness about Wikimedia projects."

Your plan is very much in line with TPS. However, because this request is on the larger end of what we see coming in through TPS, I'd like to ask you to provide a few more details about how you will achieve the outcomes you have described.

For example:

  • Will you be giving a presentation or a talk at this event? If so, has your talk been accepted? Please email a copy to participation (_AT_) wikimedia  · org.
  • In what contexts do you expect discussions to happen? Will you be participating in a panel? Do you have meetings set up during the event with other conference attendees? Do expect the conversations to happen informally?
  • How will your participation in this event help you to start the Education Program in the Gulf area? In your report's talkpage for your last TPS-funded participation in this same event, you indicated that you were going to be in touch with Tighe Flanagan to work on an analysis of the Education Program in the Arab world, and to get support in following up with contacts you made during the conference. Can you provide more information about what happened? Were any education initiatives launched? If not, what ideas do you have about what you might do this time to support new initiatives launching in the future?
  • Please describe your follow-up plan for this event. How will you keep track of contacts you've made during the event? How will you communicate with them afterward?

Thank you for your feedback in response to these questions!

Warm regards, --Marti (WMF) (talk) 17:10, 27 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
