[edit]

Hi Paelmand and Jadnapac, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant proposal. I have reviewed it and have the following comments and questions:

  • Community notifications should also be done on wiki. Please notify your community, for example, on the discussion page of the Wikimedia Community User Group Tanzania page on Meta. Please do the same for your another open grant request for WikiForHumanRights 2021 in Tanzania. Done
  • How many cameras do you plan to rent? We plan to rent 4 cameras for two days. Each camera costs 25USD per day and we will also rent two laptops for the two days at 35USD per day each.
  • What kind of online event platform do you plan to subscribe to? We want to subscribe to Zoom as a primary event platform because the free version is limited to 40 minutes event and most of our events go beyond 40 minutes. The monthly subscription is 15USD and we want to have at least a four months subscription which we can use for other projects too and for extending the photography training even beyond the project timeline.
  • Finally, could you please provide a more detailed breakdown for “photo hunt” expenses? The 810USD will be used to cover costs for taking a group of 10 photographers to Saadani park. The cost covers transport for the 10 people, park fees and food. Transport is 600USD, park fees are 100USD and 110USD is for food for the team. We are doing the photo hunt this way after we have realized the same people keeps winning most of the photo competitions and this time we want to empower those who are passionate but they have little photography knowledge. We empower them through photography training and taking them to the park with a trainer for exercises (learning by doing) and the activity will also be used to collect photos from the group giving them the knowledge they can also use to take photos from other protected areas and so increase the number of photo contributors for Wiki Commons and for other upcoming activities.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 09:01, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
