Saludos.--Chrusky (talk) 23:37, 21 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Chrusky, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant request and congratulations on your first grant! We are excited that Wikimedia El Salvador plans to run its first promotional campaign in order to engage new contributors. I have reviewed your application and have some questions that I’d like you to respond to:

  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the Wikimedia community feedback in advance. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant community pages on the target wikis? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of this proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
  • In the proposal you mentioned that you would organize a workshop in terms of the Art+Feminism campaign. Do you expect to have more than 10 participants in this event? If yes, you are required to fill out the COVID-19 Risk Assessment tool. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool under question #5.
  • Approximately, how many new contributors do you plan to engage through this project?
  • You also mentioned that you would create some videos. How many videos would you create in terms of this project?
  • Budget: 2. Kit para influencers y colaboradores (T-Shirt, bolsa, libreta,...) - for this expense, please provide a more detailed breakdown with the number of items you plan to purchase.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:33, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi DSaroyan (WMF)

thank you for your questions

  • Yes, we have shared our proposal in multiple communication channels of regional cooperation as Wiikifeminista and we have also shared it with Wikimedia Mexico, Argentina and arte y feminismo. We are still a fairly new community and we were not aware of this requirement. In this sense, However, we can properly share it in the Iberocoop mailing list, as well as in the Telegram channel of Iberocoop.
  • The Art + Feminism workshop will be held virtually to follow the health recommendations. We do not have face-to-face activities planned. We will think about it from August if it is possible to hold a face-to-face event.
  • We will train at least 30-50 new editors, mainly women. The project means to be a starting point to work and engage new participants in our emerging Wikimedian community in El Salvador. We expect to involve at least between 10-20 participants as new active volunteers to design new projects and help engage newcomers into our group.
  • We would like to make 3 videos. A generic video to explain what Wikipedia is to Salvadoran society, why it is important to have content from El Salvador and how to participate. A video to talk about the gender gap in Wikipedia, encourage the participation of women in the Wikimedia El Salvador community and the creation of biographies of women. And another one, for a WikiLoves Monuments action or for some other communication campaign that we decide.
  • We were thinking of making approximately 40 kits, although it will depend on the number of people who join or get involved in our community and the Wikimedia Movement. That is why we have not put a detailed list of kit contents. We would stick to the budget. If we need to make more kits, we will make fewer T-shirts and more notebooks, for example.

Request for relocation of funds

[edit]
Hi DSaroyan (WMF)

We are already finalizing to execute the budget of the rapid grant. But, we have a question: we still have a small fund that we had initially planned to spend on merchandising. However, we are running Wiki Loves Monuments and we wanted to know if we can use those funds (about $ 400) to print the 10 winning national photos and give a little recognition to the finalists. Here I share the budget to relocate

  • Photo bag (prize) $ 35.00
  • Glass plate $ 55.00
  • Tripod (prize) $ 30.00
  • Printing finalist photos $ 135.00
  • Pasted finsalist photos $ 75.00

TOTAL $ 330.00

We wait for your comments --Chrusky (talk) 21:32, 10 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
