General description
[edit]The "Preserving Tirana on Wikimedia"" is a series of 5 events that aim on further improving the documentation of the historic buildings (mostly urban villas) in Tirana city. This is a collaboration with the team behind The Preserving Tirana, a project that since 2019 has documented the old villas and houses in Albanian cities. 'PreservingTirana.city' is a public, open source architecture platform, that aims to document the most valuable historic and architectural asets of the city of Tirana, that are currently neglected and endangered. To get to know more about the issue that initiated and shaped the project, you can read more here: https://medium.com/@jorakasapi/nd%C3%ABrt%C3%ABsat-e-pad%C3%ABshiruara-te-tiran%C3%ABs-f17d8a7e0ff3
With the collaboration between the two entities and the edit-a-thons we aim to improve further the documentation of our city (Tirana) in Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata.
