Comments from I JethroBT (WMF)[edit]

Hi Mgonzalezmillan, and thanks for this report on your work in Dominican Republic assessing viability and usage of Internet-in-a-Box devices at local clinics. My apologies for the long delay in reviewing your report as our team has been short-staffed recently and I have personally been away on parental leave over the last few months. Here are my comments and questions:

  • The assessment from doctors about their access to information and their ability to solve medical questions using existing resources and with the addition of the device was a really neat way to gauge usability. It's good to see that doctors found the devices useful and made some significant improvements in their access to medical info and get answers.
  • Out of curiosity, were any of the doctors involved in formal research activities as a part of their work, and if so, were these devices used in those activities?
  • I'm very glad to see some of the outcomes on how the software could be improved, in particular on pediatric information and availability of content in Spanish. Both of these are areas that contributors could spend more time focusing on in terms of article creation and improvement. In terms of encouraging these improvements, do you have plans to communicate these sorts of needs to Wikimedia contributors, such as in places like Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine?

This report is officially approved, but please respond to these questions when you are able. Let me know if I can clarify any of my questions or comments. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 19:46, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
