@WJifar (WMF): I just noticed that the status in the template was on 'draft' even though it was clearly finished before the deadline. I hope you can work it in - I'm really excited to see Tanzania participate! Effeietsanders (talk) 15:36, 6 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello Eid John and Effeietsanders, it's great to see Tanzania organizing the first WLM contest! How exciting! I have a few follow-up questions before approving this grant:

  1. Can you please update the probox with start and end date of your project? As well as other pertinent information such as project summary, amount you're requesting and whether your grant is an individual grant, or group grant? Contact information is also important so we can reach you easily concerning your grant request.
  2. I see that you're planning to order 20 t-shirts for giveaway. We normally ask that t-shirts be given to participants who had exceptional contributions during the competition. Would it be possible to reduce the number of t-shirts to 5 and give it to those who have uploaded the most photos or didn't win but had great contributions?
  3. I see you're planning to give away $350 in prizes. Can you specify what type of prizes you'll be awarding? We're no longer allowing cash prizes.

Please let me know if you have any further questions. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 20:57, 24 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

@WJifar (WMF): Please note that Eind John has made a number of changes. Hopefully this addresses your points sufficiently :) (not sure if he informed you separately) Effeietsanders (talk) 02:01, 30 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
@WJifar (WMF): I've updated and make it clear as requested, please see my application and advice if there's any other changes to be made, thank you. Iddy John (talk) 06:08, 30 August 2018

One additional question

[edit]

Hello Iddy John, thank you for making the changes. I just wanted to ask one more question on the awards you're proposing to give. I apologize for all the back and forth on this. It seems to me that giving winners something that they can utilize past this competition would be worth while as opposed to a trophy worth 200 USD, 100 USD or 50 USD. Is there any way you can give them gift cards, vouchers or gift certificates? Or if those things don't exist in Tanzania you can think of other prizes such as phone cards, cameras or other material awards. How does this sound to you? Please let me know if I misunderstood your description. I can approve your grant once you've updated the award section. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 20:22, 30 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

@WJifar (WMF): Some of things you've asked they do not apply in Tanzania, there's two way we can make this work, we can either buy different things such as (Camera equipments, bags, and other) from sites like Amazons that worthy the amount mentioned, though they will be cost of transport and maybe clearance, or we can buy e-gifts cards from amazons that worthy the amount mentioned and we will add winners details and they can spend e-cards the way they want. Advice if this will be the best way to go, I haven't made any changes yet. Iddy John (talk) 09:26, 31 August 2018
