Hello Headofheads, thanks for submitting this Rapid Fund request. I have completed the initial review of your grant application and I have a few questions in order to understand the project focus and your motivation better:

• How many UNESCO heritage sites do you plan to document with this project? What's the total number of UNESCO heritage sites in Nigeria?
• I acknowledge the importance of this project. However, I see that you have only a few edits on Wikimedia projects and you haven't made any edits after June 2019. I want to learn more about your motivation behind this project.
  • Why do you want to make contributions to Wikimedia projects if you haven't made any after 2019?
  • Do you plan to make contributions to Wikimedia projects after this project?
  • How will you ensure that others edit Wikimedia projects after the project?
  • How will you organize an editathon if you are new to Wikimedia projects? What's your experience in running similar events?

Budget:

• Refreshments (for the edit a thon): please reduce this cost to 10 USD per person maximum.
• Please review and reduce the following expenses: Disposable nosemask and Hand Sanitizers, Internet subscription (For the upload and edit a thon), and Airtime for communication
• Why do you request 80 USD for "Local Transportation"?

Thank you DSaroyan (WMF) for the questions, here are my response:

• There are about 16 UNESCO sites in Nigeria with only about 70% not without images on Wikipedia which include: Surame Cultural Landscape, Sungbo's Eredo, Gashaka Gumti National Park, Takamanda National Park, Ikom monoliths, Oban Hills, Ogbunike Caves, Sukur Cultural lanscape, Old Oyo National Park, Arochkwu Long Juju Slave Route, Kwiambana and/or Ningi, Lake Chad Cultural Landscape. So my plan is to document all UNESCO sites in Nigeria without pictures and also nationally declared monuments without images.

• My main motivation for this is to bridge the knowledge gap in image that exits with UNESCO sites in Image as I would have done it on my own if I have the needed resources hence this project, it came as a surprise to me after I coincidentally attended the Naija office hour which I learnt of the UNESCO sites and how there are lesser images of them and little Wikipedia contributions about them.
  • My last contributions was around June 2019 as I have been busy with photography projects and this UNESCO sites project will further rekindled my contributions here the more after the project and also inspire other photographers like me to contribute.
  • In order to ensure others edit Wikipedia and commons after the project, I will ensure I create a community for all the participants using a WhatsApp group where they are being mentored by experienced Wikimedia contributors as that’s one of the ways for sustainable contributions and what I didn’t have when I started contributing.
  • This will be the first time of organizing an edit a thon but I have attended several edit a thon trainings in the past so will be relying on the experience of Kaizenify to pull through and advice on all the necessary things to to have a successful edit a thon which I am excited and look forward to.

Budget:

• ok, this has been effected.
• This has also been effected even though they were around the actual cost so will just go for a lower cost.
• The 80USD will cater for every logistic and personnel transportation of the resource person and me in Lagos on the day of the edit-a-thon.
