Hi Hadassahlove, thank you for submitting your grant application. After reviewing your grant proposal, we have some questions to learn more about the project and planned activities.

  • Are you collaborating with other community members to implement this project? Do you have other experienced users in the team?
  • Is there a need to protect some participants' identity? How will you ensure this?
  • Have you discussed this proposal with target communities in advance?
  • As mentioned in question #2, please notify all target communities in advance on their Meta pages or other platforms.
  • Given the project scope, we will either fund prizes for the overall winners, or prizes for languages / communities. So, please choose one of these and adjust your proposed budget accordingly.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:04, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you DSaroyan (WMF) for the review and the questions Here are my responses:

  • Yes, i will be collaborating mainly with the Wikimedia LGBT+ usergroup as i have a good relationship with them due to previous events and also reaching out to some members of the Nigeria Hausa Wiki Usergroup as i see some event geared towards LGBTQ from some of them. As per experienced users; i have the support of Kaizenify who has always been supportive from day 1 and also ready to provide every needed expertise.
  • Yes, there is need. As i will be working closely with the Wikimedia LGBT+ usergroup to ensure this and the event page will revel information of how participants should ensure proper safety including not sharing personal info on their page.
  • Due to some of the hostility recorded at previous events i couldn't engage the Nigeria Usergroup but i discussed individually with some members of the usergroup (which i wouldn't want to name) and they pledged support and also members of the Wikimedia LGBTQ usergroup. I have also posted on Wikimedia UG Nigeria talkpage here and also Wikimedia LGBT+ here.
  • I have done that. Thanks
  • I conceptualized the idea of funding separate language/communities due to the some of the complain/suggestions made when we published the last edition results here by the participants. And also due to the fact that some participants might want to contest in more than one languages, but if you insist due to the project scope, i will be willing to drop the overall winners and just focus on Languages

Thanks once again. Hadassahlove (talk) 15:45, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

On a second note, i have dropped the overall price and hence focus on language/communities prices thereby having two winners from each languages. Thanks Hadassahlove (talk) 15:53, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
