Hello Ebenezer Mlay, thanks for submitting this grant request. I am glad to hear that the Wikimedia Community of Arusha is joining this contest for the first time! I reviewed your proposal, you can find my questions and comments below:

• How many judges do you plan to have for your contest? How are you going to select them and how will they judge the quality of generated content?
• How many prizes do you intend to award?
• Why do you need a professional photo camera for your events? Can’t you use a mobile phone to take photos of the events?
• Do you have a prepared list of articles which will be used throughout the events?
• As suggested per our COVID-19 checklist, please provide only pre-packaged food and beverage during your events and ask to avoid any exchanging of items (such as swag).

Hello DSaroyan (WMF), thanks for your response to this grant request. Thanks for the questions and the comments that you have provided. Below are the responses:

• There will be three judges, these judges will come from the community these are going to be the most experienced volunteers from the community. We will judge the quality of the generated content through a point system. The points will be distributed on a basis of new articles created or improved and the number of quality images added to articles.
• I intend to provide prizes for the first, second, and third winners.
• I planned to use a professional photo camera for the events so as we could get quality photos that could be used in social media to create more awareness about the Wikimedia movement in Arusha. Mobile phones are used to provide internet through hotspots most of the time therefore using them for photo-taking might cause them to die out of charge.
• There are articles that are already suggested by the international organizing team, we will also do a translation of most articles that are in English and not in Swahili.
• I will provide pre-packaged food and beverage during the events and have all participants observe the best practices during this pandemic.
