[edit]Hello Csisc, thank you for submitting this final report and apologies for our delayed review. Thanks for running this Wikidata meeting and for introducing SPARQL to the computer scientists and developers of Sfax. I have reviewed your report and have the following comments:
- We appreciate your contribution to the translation and localization of the slides and guides for the French speakers, and also to the development of the Wikidata query service-based interface, which I am sure might be useful for other communities as well.
- We are happy to see that you have met all the initial goals from the proposal. Are you planning similar events in the future?
- It is great that 31 professionals participated in this event! Have you heard back from any of them after the event regarding Wikidata or SPARQL? Did any of them join your association?
- I noted that there is 25.94 USD of remaining funds. Since the remaining amount is very small, I confirm that you can retain and use it toward any mission-aligned activities.
Thank you again for your contributions to the Wikimedia Movement. I have accepted your final report and expense documentation. This grant is now complete. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 12:09, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
- DSaroyan (WMF): I thank you for your answer. I know that the grants team has lots of work to do. Concerning your significant question, we have sent a paper for review to Journal of Web Semantics in which we propose a SPARQL-based method for ontology validation of Wikidata. This method was among the results of our discussion with the community. As well, we have applied to the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education to found a Wikimedia Research Unit. This research unit has involved most of the participants of our SPARQL Workshop. This could not be achieved with this important workshop. When the research unit will be created, we will work on SPARQL-based projects to ameliorate Wikidata applications like Scholia. --Csisc (talk) 13:38, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hey Csisc, thanks for your comprehensive response. I wish you the best of luck in all of your future events! Cheers, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:26, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
